Media.net / Yahoo ads review For Bloggers and Publishers -Rexblog

I always choose best ad-networks for bloggers and publishers who read this blog because I want them to earn really online so i don't promote those ad networks which don't give profit.

In previous post I shared about Adcash because it really pays if you even have a little traffic. In this post I am sharing my experience with media.net.

My Experience With Media.net / Yahoo ads

I didn't sign up with media.net because I was working with adsense. And when media.net first started operating it was called yahoo gemini ad network and I didn't signup, though I received an invitation from one of their agent to join their ad network (Media.net) and they created an account for me, set-up ads for me and told me to put these ads in my blog. So i put their ads for some days but didn't get benefit so I removed them.

Now when my Google Adsense account got block then I started using media.net for 2 weeks and so Far I haven't earned anything but I feel like they pay you when these ads understand your site or blog, catch keywords, understand changes etc. So I am giving it some time. I will share update about it soon.

Requirements To Get media.net Approval.

If you look on other sites and blogs you will see a list of false claims that you need at least 5000 views/day, some will claim that you need to have Contact, About and Disclaimer etc pages, Some will say your site should have a page translator etc but here is whats reality. Media.net select a site or blog for approval on the basis of following things which maybe less or more but I don't claim or guarantee you that you will get approval after having following things.

1. Your site should have real traffic from search engines.

2. Your site should have good content which should be original and people should visit your site for that content. I guess that they know how your site gets traffic i.e your audience reaches your site by using certain keywords on search engines. It doesn't mean that your site must get all traffic from search engines and social or backlinks traffic is prohibited. It means that most of traffic should be real.

3. Your site should have a good navigation and should be properly indexed in search engines have should have good rank. By good rank I mean that your site should come up on first page of Google or other search engines search results pages when a visitor uses certain keywords. For example you reached this post by using keywords similar to this page's content.

4. Receive majority of their traffic from US / UK / Canada.

5. Contain content that is primarily in the English language.

6. Have a reasonable volume of visitors already using the website.

7. Do not contain excessive advertising.

Proof for Approval requirements claim.

Here I will share and an email received from media.net that proves that media.net approves sites on the basis of things that are claimed here in this post and answers in the email also discard false claims about approval criteria in other websites and blogs.

Emails says "There are a lot of factors that come into the picture when being approved by us. Having good quality content being at the top of it, there are various other important aspects that are considered by us. Here is the link to our detailed program guidelines -  https://www.media.net/legal/programguidelines/. This encompasses more or less everything you need to know."

So just like Google Adsense media.net approval criteria has good content on top.

Media.net / Yahoo ads type.

Media.net says in its official email I received that they have following ad rating types.

1. CPC - Cost per click.

2. CPM - Cost per thousand views.

3. CPA - Cost per Affiliate.

4. CPL - Cost per Lead.

Media.net / Yahoo ads cpc rates.

Nobody has a 100% proof that media.net pays for clicks or for views of CPM(pay for clicks+1000 views). Some sites and blogs claim that it pays $2 for click but there is no proofs. Media.net mentioned on their site in Publisher policy that a Publisher should not encourage visitors to click on ads and should not drive invalid traffic. So it can be concluded that media.net pays per click as well as per lead and CPM. So in short media.net cpc rates aren't clear.

Media.net / Yahoo ads CPM rates.

As I mentioned above that there is no clear statement from media.net about rates, CPM rates aren't also told. Other sites again claim that CPM is very high but without any proof. I guess it may have a high CPM because its a big ad network and is trying to compete with Google Adsense but I have no data about it. I will share it here once I get some data.

Proof for CPC / CPM rates claims.

Here I will share an email which I received from media.net in which I have asked media.net to clarify CPC and CPM rates.

Email says "We have diverse ad partnerships consisting of CPC, CPM, CPA, CPL models and we ensure a strong competition between all types of advertisers. But for the publishers to evaluate, we provide them with a dashboard access (Pubconsole) that provides them with suitable insights to evaluate their performance.  But majorly what we provide the publisher is the RPM (Revenue per thousand impressions) metric for them to understand where they stand. The dashboard also provides them with various other options to manage their ads. To know more about the dashboard reporting, you can refer to the section Media.net Review: Pubconsole and reporting dashboard in this article which is written by Servando So Yong Silva, one of our top affiliates."

Media.net / Yahoo ads Payout methods & Minimum payment threshold.

Minimum payment amount for media.net is $100.

1. Wire-transfer.

2. Payoneer.

Media.net Text ads.

After getting approval you will see that you have only text ads and thats a thing about media.net that they don't give all controls to Publishers to change ads color or style. But by changing ads size in media.net code you can change style of the ads. Text ads being default format makes media.net good ad network because intelligent visitors know images ads and they won't click them but in my opinion text ads perform better if placed in right position of pages.

Media.net Display & Native ads.

You can see on many sites that media.net shows image as well as native ads and you can also request your account manager to enable display and native ads. You will also get a form to sign up for display ads via email once you get approval.

Media.net says that their codes and smart and they show ads which pays maximum for your site, there ads focus on high rates not on text or display format.

Media.net review Summery.

I came to conclusion that media.net is a good ad network if you have a good traffic but still you have to use a companion with it. You need to have a good content not copied from other sites just like Google adsense. I don't believe that your majority traffic should be from US, UK or Canada to get approval but to earn good these traffic sources matters. Good luck!
